LA County Parks & Recreation Supervisor.
Dino Smiley recognizes the need for the youth in the community to be provided opportunities that are otherwise not afforded to them. Dino began his involvement with the Drew League in 1978 and then ultimately assumed the role as Director/Commissioner in 1985, prior to establishing the Drew League Foundation in 2009. As a leader in the community, he invests his time and efforts in more than Basketball: Dino has made it his mission to help the local youth and community to overcome the perceptions of those outside of the community.
In addition, he works diligently in improving life experiences, providing opportunities for the at-risk youth and community despite being raised in a underserved community filled with challenges of violence and the lack of resources.
“The Drew League Foundation is important to me because of what it represents. We are here to assist the youth and the community through difficult times, whether it is overcoming a challenge in achieving educational success, mastering a sport or just simply providing a shoulder to lean on, or a healthy meal. Today’s youth have so many obstacles to overcome in order to achieve their goals, we are here to provide the motivation and encouragement to keep them focused. The Foundation is vital because it gives our youth and community the tools and resources to help them succeed”.
By offering your donation to the Drew League Foundation, you are giving more than funds.
