Stephanie Smiley

Drew League Foundation member since inception. Long term High School employee working with special needs  students. I also coach Drill and Dance team. Dedicated community leader.

Stephanie Smiley is known as the “First Lady of the Drew League”. Stephanie focuses her efforts on creating programs and mentoring to increase the levels of self-esteem for the youth and community in South Central Los Angeles. In 2014, Stephanie was recognized and named the “Woman of the Year “by the County of Los Angeles for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the young ladies in the community. Stephanie works extremely close with the young ladies of the Drew League Foundation in the areas of teaching them drill team/band techniques, leading fundraisers and facilitating etiquette workshops. She also develops and plan activities to assist them in meeting their community service requirements needed to graduate from their respective High Schools. Stephanie is an advocate for community initiatives such as feeding the homeless, Turkey drives, and Toy drives to name a few which demonstrates her giving and compassionate nature which strengthens the Foundation in attaining their goals.

Why the Foundation is important to me…

“I feel like I am a second Mother to hundreds. The hat that I would give my own children I would give to other children. I would feel terrible if I didn’t help a child in need. If I am unable to assist financially, I provide support in other ways such as hugs when needed and a listening ear. I am committed to doing whatever is needed to ensure happiness and confidence in the youth and the community”.
