The Drew League Foundation was established in 2009 and was designed to help the at-risk youth and the community of South Central Los Angeles and surrounding areas by defying the odds and stereotypes that has impacted the community for decades. Our goal is to change that perception and inspire the desire to succeed. We are here to assist the youth and community because if they were left to their own devices and being forced to handle all obstacles alone the outcome would be grim. We aim to provide a home away from home to extend encouragement and support as well as opportunities and positive experiences.
The Drew League Foundation offers our at-risk youth a safe place to grow. The mentors work with each young person to develop character while allowing their personalities to thrive. Our goal is to inspire and develop relationships that are cultivated in our programs which will enhance the quality of life for at-risk youth and the community.
Everyone deserves a chance at greatness, we want to expose them to all that life has to offer. Most importantly, we want them to be proud of their accomplishments and that they are valued as individuals by providing them with a support system to help them navigate through life when difficulties occur. The youth know that through hard work and perseverance they can overcome any challenge that they encounter and succeed.
The Drew League Foundation was established based on the belief that “when provided an opportunity you can change the world”. The Foundation was created in order to provide a safe and positive pathway for our at-risk youth and the community through programs such as gang prevention, mentoring, events/programs and sports activities. In accomplishing these goals, we can enhance the overall well-being of our community.
