This past Saturday, the Drew League Community Day event was an overwhelming success, bringing our community together in a positive and festive atmosphere. It was truly heartwarming to witness the unity and joy that filled the day.
The giveaways of free t-shirts, backpacks, and socks were a hit, with attendees eagerly lining up to receive them. The delicious food added to the festive spirit, and the activities for the children brought so much joy to their faces. It was wonderful to see families visiting the various booths, from voting registration to medical screening and the fitness booth.
The success of the Community Day event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
Scholarship Ceremony
The Drew League Foundation, an embodiment of hope and progress, extends its impact beyond the basketball court with its scholarship giveaway program. Aimed at empowering the youth, the Foundation awards scholarships to high school students who are on their path to college, providing them with the resources to pursue higher education. This initiative underscores the Foundation’s belief in the transformative power of opportunity and education, as it opens doors for students from South Central Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Through these scholarships, the Drew League Foundation invests in the future leaders of our society, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder the academic aspirations of deserving students
Turkey Giveaway
The Drew League Foundation, renowned for its commitment to community upliftment, has once again demonstrated its dedication through the annual turkey giveaway event. This initiative is a testament to the Foundation’s core belief that providing opportunities can change the world, as it offers a helping hand to families in need during the Thanksgiving season. By distributing turkeys and food supplies, the Foundation not only feeds bodies but also nourishes hope and solidarity within the community. The success of the turkey drive, which in 2020 served 347 families, is a reflection of the generous spirit of the Foundation and its supporters, including contributions from NBA players.

Established as part of the league’s vision to empower young men and women through basketball, it has become a hub for former WNBA players, and overseas and collegiate players to display their skills.
